Les Mis Chapter 14

One thing that stood out to me in chapter 14 was how the bishop was different than everyone else because he didn't ask the why questions. He knew what needed to be done and just did it and it made him better for it. It isn't surprising at all that the Bishop just wants to help people and doesn't really care about for the questions that everyone lese is stuck on. I am curious though if the Bishop had always been this way, or if he had to learn this lesson the hard way by wasting his time asking questions instead of helping people. Other than that I feel like the chapter jut recapped everything we learned about the Bishop in previous chapters.

Les Mis Chp. 13

After reading chapter 13, I really like the part where they talked about how the bishop was full of love and that was why he was such a good person. The background of a person didn't matter to him, they were still a person. And it was nice to see that people could somewhat recognize this and they all respected him for it. Also, the part about the Bishop acing through the night and praying while everyone else was asleep caught my attention as well. Mainly because my dad does the same thing in the morning before everyone else is awake, so it just brought up some memories. One thing I do wonder is if  being this good loving person comes easy to him or is it still challenge for the Bishop. They said how he is now was because it was more of a conviction than natural, so I wonder if he still struggles with it.

Literature Analysis #1

1.I chose to read The Ballad Of Songbirds and Snakes by Susan Collins and it is a prequel to the Hunger Games series. It starts with a very poor Coriolanus Snow struggling to keep himself, his grandmother, and his cousin afloat. Then he finds out that he will be a mentor to the 12th district girl tribute in the Hunger Games, and if they win, they will be getting a nice cash prize, which he desperately needs. During is time mentoring, he and his tribute named Lucy Gray Baird, form a close bond and fall in love. Because of this new love(and the prize for winning) he cheats in the Hunger Games which allows Lucy Gray to win. However, he is caught cheating and is sent away to work in the military in district 12. Once there, he finds Lucy Gray, an after he accidently kills someone and his best friend, they plan to run away together. As they run off, Coriolanus  realizes that he could still have a chance of being someone great in the capitol. So he attempts to kill Lucy Gray and runs back t

Les Mis Chapter 12.

This chapter was definitely one of the more confusing chapters. However, I think it was saying that a lot of people try to succeed and rise up through the ranks but that isn't necessarily a good thing. I did notice that once again the Bishop is much different than the others. He understands that the goal should be to help people and not yourself. I also  found it interesting how other people realized it too so they stayed away from the Bishop because they knew they could never advance to the next level though him. It fits with the character off the Bishop to be content with where he is and to once again focus on others more than himself.

Les Mis Chp. 11

One thing that stood out to me was learning about the Bishop's two brothers because I like getting more information on the Bishop's personals life. I also found it interesting how he was more harsh/stern with the brother that's a general for going after the emperor. Another part that stood out to me was we got more information as to why the bishop gives everything to charity. I like that the bishop is trying to be able to relate to them and understand them more by putting himself in their shoes. It makes sense that the Bishop couldn't really help them if he didn't understand what they are going through.
