How We Read

Reading is supposed to be fun, but sometimes reading for school is a challenge. Here are four ways we can have more fun reading and do it better at the same time. 

1.You need to read books that you love. Often times when we have reading assignments, we don't get to choose what we read and it becomes a real chore. When we choose the books we love, it becomes a more enjoyable experience.

2. You also need to try and better understand the books you don't love. Trying to understand these books can change your point of view about them and could help you see past just the negative qualities. It could even help make it a book you love.

3.You have to change what reading means to you. As you get older it should become more than just recognizing words on a page. It should be more about understanding the deeper meanings that you are able to find or how you interpret those passages.

4. The last technique is be able to love learning. You can't just be focused on just getting the grade, or you'll start to loose that enjoyment of curiosity and learning. Focusing on just the grade can turn learning into a stress  filled time instead of a fun one.

Les Mis Part 1 Summary

     So far in Les Mis we have been focusing on the Bishop and his life. He started out as this person who  had it all and then lost it all, including his wife. Then he went away to Italy and became the Bishop. From there on his main goal is to  help people and not worry so much about the material things. We can see this in how he takes care of his house, as it is old and without many new and fancy things.     Throughout the first book we see how good ad selfless the Bishop is. He is constantly giving charity to those who need it in multiple ways. One way is by giving almost all of his money to the poor and hungry. Another is by welcoming everyone into his home in which he doesn't even have a lock on the door so anyone can come in at any time. Another important moment where he helped someone is when he spent the day with the man who was to be executed. He spent the entire day comforting the man up until his last moments, even though it wasn't even his job to do so.     The Bish

I Have The Answers

    1. What has been the hardest part of starting school during the pandemic? The most challenging part of starting school during the pandemic is having to sit in front of the computer screen and just listen to the lesson for an hour. Though I don't have to do that for all my classes, I do have a couple where we just listen to the teacher just talk for 50 +minutes. That gets really boring very quickly, especially since their isn't as much group work to break up the time. 2. What have you enjoyed the most about starting school during the pandemic? The most enjoyable part of starting school in a pandemic has been the flexibility. It is really nice to have a day where I can sleep in and work on whatever I want at my own pace. And since most assignments aren't do until the next week I an organize my schedule a lot easier  and plan what I'm gonna work on for the day. 3. What are your goals in this course this year?
